Online Training

Our online training offers a comprehensive, self-paced course to address implicit bias and discrimination in educational settings. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of culturally relevant pedagogy and practical strategies for addressing bias, microaggressions, stereotype-threat, and providing wise feedback. The training includes interactive case studies and modules to enhance understanding and application of culturally responsive teaching practices, all while allowing flexibility to complete the course at their convenience.

Culturally Responsive Curriculum Development Institute (CRCDI)

The Culturally Responsive Curriculum Development Institute (CRCDI) is a week-long, summer immersion focused on training and coaching faculty and instructors towards implementation of culturally responsive practices and pedagogy into existing courses of all modalities, including distance and online learning environments.

Project CREAR

Project CREAR (Culturally Responsive Engagement, Articulation, and Research) is an HSI STEM initiative to improve the University's capacity to enroll, support, and graduate Hispanic and low-income students in STEM fields. By dismantling barriers to STEM education, Project CREAR supports the overarching goal of increasing the number of Hispanic and low-income students attaining degrees in STEM fields through comprehensive strategies, including culturally responsive teaching and mentoring.

Project CREAR is 94.1% funded through the U.S. Department of Education Hispanic-Serving Institutions – Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and Articulation Programs (HSI STEM or Title III, Part F), amounting to $4,989,496 over a five-year award period. The remaining 5.9% is funded through the University of Arizona, totaling $313,302 over five years.
