By completing your Math Placement Assessment and scheduling your New Student Orientation as soon as possible, you’ll:

🔢 1. Take Your Math Placement Assessment
Math is a key part of STEM success! Your placement determines which math class you’ll take in your first semester.
- Who needs to take it? Most incoming first-year students are encouraged to take their math placement assessment. For a more in-depth Math Placement Overview, click on the link below.
- How to prepare: Use our Math Placement Fact Sheet to understand what to expect.
- Where to take it: The placement is online and must be completed before you can be enrolled in your math course.
📅 2. Schedule Your New Student Orientation
Your New Student Orientation (NSO) is where you'll meet fellow Wildcats, get important information, meet your academic advisors, and register for your first semester of classes!
- Why it's important: Your NSO date determines when you can officially enroll in courses, so register early! This is where you can ask questions and learn everything you need to know for your first day as an Arizona Wildcat!
- How and Where to Register: If you haven’t done so already, sign up for your New Student Orientation through your Next Steps Center.
